Welcome back!
<< Marketing Tactics Personal Development: A Goal to Reach For! >>SA = CD + D x PA + P
SA = Success Attitude
- You must have no doubts in your mind that you could possibly fail. Steer clear of any negative influence … like the pessimists around you saying “That won’t work” or “I’ve tried that before and it was a flop” , etc. By all means take note, if you must, and don’t make the same mistakes as them!
CD = Core Desire
- Anyone who has reached their goals will tell you that they achieved this because they were so specific about what it was they wanted. They could actually, see it, feel it, smell it, hear it and almost touch it … their core desire was almost real.
D = Direction
- Once you know what you want, you’ll know what to do to get it.
PA = Proper Action
- This is where you use the right tools to get what you want.
P = Persistence
- Lastly, never give up … keep trying. If the mountain is too high to climb, then break it down into smaller chunks … baby steps … until you’ve reached the top.
EXAMPLE …
To give you some idea of how driven you can be by following this formula … one of my course participants wanted a new car. Her husband told her they couldn’t afford a new car (pessimist!). However, she was so determined to show him that she would have her new car (Success Attitude) that she started to set her goal.
She went out and identified the exact type of car she wanted (Core Desire) … the make; the model; the color; the interior color; features that she wanted … like air conditioning, ABS, power steering, safety, etc … she even took a similar model for a test drive, just to get the feel and smell of her new car. Then, she got the price!
Next, she went home and juggled her finances. She also did some homework on the best deal for vehicle financing for … only to be pleasantly surprised that the new car’s instalment equaled the same amount that she was paying off monthly for her credit cards. (Direction). Finally, she set a deadline for her goal.
Over the next few months, she completely paid off her credit card debt (Proper Action)
Her determination to achieve her new car was so driven that she never gave up (Persistence) … Now, guess who’s driving her new car … she even allows her husband to drive it occassionally!
I’d love to have your input or questions … as I’m sure many others would, so let’s have your comments below.
